Its Been awhile!

Its been awhile since I've posted anything but I have been lurking. Welcome to all the new members. I know you will love this forum as much as I have. I've been busy taking care of my mom, she has a compression fracture in her back and I've been driving her to the doctor and therapy. I've also been taking care of her house and mine. But she's on the mend now. My DH was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago with Testicular Cancer. We're going to MD Anderson in Houston on Monday for evaluation and surgery. The tumor is too large to operate on here. He works in Brasil and had a cold there with dizziness that wouldn't go away. Thats why he went to the doctor in the first place. He never had any symptoms of the cancer.

I know everyone will keep him in your prayers because that's what you all do so well. Thank you so much and I'll still be lurking when I can and will keep you updated on my DH. It will be 35 years this year that we have been married.

JANET, Vickie said it so well. We will be praying hard and thinking of you both. That is a load to bear, I know from personal experience. M.D. Anderson has a wonderful rep and is suppose to be one of the best and the hospital and staff are suppose to be top-notch, too. Besides the Lords hands, you will be in excellent hands with them. Take care of yourself, too. Stress can be a terrible thing on your mind, body and spirit. Dont give that devil a foothold, either, pick up your broom, open the door and sweep his lying behind out, LITERALLY!! TRUST AND PRAY!! Keep us posted and give us an update as soon as you can get a minute.

It's so nice to see old rose buddies! It's such a great time of year...everything looks promising at the moment. Valerie, good rose buddy, hope you're doing well and your new rose garden is working hard for you! Hope Buddy is good too. :-) Patricia! Missed your snappy sense of humor. Last I remember were images of your garden. It must be full of roses at this moment, right? Shelley, so the DH did the right thing, it sounds like! Yes, I don't do much to my Teas. I may trim a wayward branch or cane if there are enough of them so it doesn't sacrifice too much. But, yes, from what I know, the twiggy stuff is all good, to put it simply. I've heard controversy on pruning or not pruning back Mrs. B. R. Cant, and I just thought I'd try it, so I did, but I guess I just cut off about 18" from a 6 or 7' high bush, so we'll see about that, if she sulks. The others, I was just conservative and did little. Harry! Anytime. Bring that sense of dry humor, would love to have you! Wishing you a good midgeless year (it was midge that did you in, right?) That was LAST year. Over and done with, hopefully. Florence!! So glad to see you here. I'll bet you can't wait to see your beautiful climbers with their new haircut. We pruned all our roses down but decided to let our New Dawn be a jungle to enjoy this year. MichaelG, oh thank goodness you're back, I'll be needing you, I'm real sure. Thanks again for the warm welcome back!! Nope no ice storm damage....didnt get a drop. However last night the winds were amazing and tahlequah got either a twister or some sheer winds. Had quite a bit of damage. Flamey: Ive thought about you often too...and that lil buzzard thing you made for Shelba is toooo cute. Patti...yes i was talking about D5.... You've really had your hands full, Janet. And more challenges ahead. Its good news your Mom is mending, tho I know recovery is slow when its your back. Hard on both of you for sure. Lots of prayers will be coming for your DH of course, and will be holding you close in thoughts.

Janet, I am so sorry to hear of your husbands cancer and your mothers fracture. I will keep you all in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Take care and please keep us posted on how your husband is doing.

Awwww, Janet! I will pray that God gives you strength so you are able to help your husband and your mother through these difficult times and that they both have successful and speedy recoveries. Take comfort in your GJ friends here. They are a magnificent bunch that's for sure! If anyone can get a hold of God's ear and bend It, it is this bunch! Keep strong and be well,
