Mystery Tomato- Please help me ID it! (pic included)

My tomato plants are approaching 7 ft tall, and I have finally gotten ripe (or semi-ripe) fruit off of all of them. This one was the last to start to ripen, and I have no idea what it is! I planted several varieties of heirlooms, and unfortunately I didn't label them when I started the seeds back in February.

Here are a few of the possibilities: Julia Child, Brandywine, Gold Medal. I can definitely rule out some others (Cherokee Purple, Black Cherry, etc.), and it definitely doesn't look like any of my other Brandywines! So what does everybody think? I'm guessing Gold Medal, but not sure.

Question #2: Is it ripe?

Gold Medal is the only bi-color variety in your list so if those are the only choices that is what it should be.

If it is gold medal, is it ripe? I checked google images for pics of gold medal tomatoes, and they all looked different!

Could very well be poa trivialis. It likes shade and damp areas. In the summer, without water or with too much heat, it'll go dormant or die. It is a spreading perennial. Certainty is a selective control BUT NOT for TTTF, unfortunately. There may be others out there though. I know some studies have shown ethofumesate to be more effective at controlling poa triv than poa annua but others have shown no control whatsoever. There is probably no good chemical control for you. In the spring, does this grass develop thick stalks?

First may be a little color enhanced :-) Looks like Eucomis 'Sparkling Burgundy', aka pineapple lily. The second is an agastache but there are so many with similar coloring it may be hard to nail down specifics. I'd look at 'Summer Sunset', 'Apricot Sunrise' or 'Summer Fiesta'.

I know what you mean about getting good pictures. My goal is to get one really good underside shot of a Mulberry Wing next summer. They land with wings together and then in about 2-3 seconds relax into the jet-plane position. That leaves no time to focus and fire... So patience is pretty much the only answer: catching one at the right time. Certain nectar plants (like Buddleia above, or milkweeds) act somewhat like mild intoxicants and can help you to get close enough for a good pic. Jeff

Depends on how it feels. Color is pretty good on it but when fully ripe it won't feel hard. It will have a bit of give to it when gently squeezed with your fingers.

Looks exactly like a red zebra tomato to me.

I haven't grown any of these, but that photo of Red Zebra shows a 2-cell and Tatiana's describes it as round. The OP's tomato, on the other hand, looks larger, definitely isn't round, and looks like it's probably a beefsteak type with many more cells.

Other stripey bicolors would include Beauty King and Beauty Queen. Beauty King is described as oblate or round.

I grew gold medals last year and the photo looks nothing like a gold medal.

Looks like a pineapple tomato. is the inside flesh a really crazy pattern?? or gold medal,, was it a volunteer or did you buy it at the nursery??,, looks deliscious, either way..

Definitely not volunteer- I started everything from seed and transplanted all of my plants. I sliced it up a few days after I posted, and it definitely looked crazy inside! Several different shades of red, orange, and yellow, with a deep red "heart." And it was delicious! Just a little bit of good olive oil, some fleur de sel, and a drop of aceto balsamico di modena, and it was gone before I knew it!
