Sorry to hear about your BER problem. That's alot of rot on one tomato. I have a bunch of tomato plants this year and they all have set fruit. I do have one plant that is getting BER. As soon as I notice it, I get rid of the tomato.......don't want to waste any plant energy on bad tomatoes. As soon as I see a little spot of BER I yank it. So far on my one bad plant, every tomato has had a BER problem. Funny, I can't figure out why, and I haven't had a BER problem in the past. I added 'a little' lime and some gypsum to the soil, and I'm not going to water it until it really needs it, and let's see what happens. I do have one plant in a two 5 gal bucket SWC, and that plant is doing really well. It's really big, with dark green super leaves, and has a few tomatoes on it. The reservoir probably holds about a gallon, and it needs filling every couple of days due to the plants size, and all the hot dry weather we have been having lately.

Ain't it tho!! But would you believe that this same area grew some awesome melons last year? Go figure. I've also had nice healthy Castor Bean, Nasturtium, Love-lies-Bleeding, Rudbeckia, ect. in here...LOL!! Here's this years Minnesota Midget Melon (1 shown), self-sown Amaranthus & 'Intense Purple'...out of the pic nearer to the border are self-sown Aster Crego, Alyssum, self-sown Creeping Thyme and rudbeckia: Here's some self-sown Moulin Rouge Sunflower towering over the Shasta Daisy....The wildflower/grass bed just behind in same soil type containing lots of Rudbeckia, Ratibida, Blue Flax, Echinacea, Coreopsis lanceolata (just got whacked back until the grasses will support the gangly flowering stems), Monarda, Gaillardia ect:

I"m only growing 3 plants of each variety that I am harvesting seeds from and the plants that sell will be numerous quantities. Tomatoes is where the money is so that is where the plant numbers get out of control. Even though I sell plants now, it is very much an addiction to grow these and many other vegetablesâ¦I can't stop. 2 years ago I had 250 varieties of peppers and 100 varieties of heirloom tomatoes in my garden. My garden is 150' long and 50' wide the width grows by about 3-4 ft a year. When my wife leaves for the day in the spring I just move the fence out and till the grass before she gets home.

It would have just shown up if potted up with a new bag. I asked since I had some tomatoes I potted up in Miracle Gro's Nature's Care organic line, and I believe the soil had herbicide contamination. My tomatoes looked like her pictures. This was entirely indoors and the tomatoes that were not potted in that soil did not have the problem. I also then made the mistake of not cleaning my trays and wasn't paying attention to the ones that I had used when potting up the ones that I believe were in contaminated, and just grabbed a tray for some new seedlings. The tray had some potting soil in the bottom ridges. The seedlings in that tray all showed the same signs. Toms in a different tray directly next to them nothing. Moved these guys to a clean tray, but damage was done. And I get to wear a dunce cap for being lazy and not cleaning my trays.
