pinching off blossoms on blueberry plants

I just bought my first (3) blueberry plants from a local nursery and they told me that they are around 3-5 years old and are already producing some fruit. I seem to remember hearing something about pinching off blossoms on young plants in order to help the energy go into the plant itself instead of into the fruit, especially while the plant is young and still not stable. Is this correct? Are my new plants still in this stage, or should I plant and nourish, and look forward to my small crop of blueberries this summer?
