Wanted: Spider plant seed or ZZ plant seed
Comments (0)I'm looking for seeds from these two plants: chlorophytum comosum (Spider plant), full green leave variety. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorophytum_comosum Zamioculcas zamiifolia (ZZ plant), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zamioculcas. These two common house plants are too easy to propagate from cuttings. For this reason it is very rare to find vendor that sells their seeds. I exclusively grow plants from seeds so please if you have them please let me know Thank you....See MoreMold or fungus on ZZ plant soil?
Comments (5)Thanks for the reply. When you say "throw all that out," do you mean just the soil, or dump the whole plant? Watering - I found tons of conflicting info online, ranging from let the top 2" dry to let the whole thing dry. Tried to split the difference by letting it dry halfway, but the truth is I was pretty lax so it probably ended up close to all dry in most watering cycles. I did have some trouble assessing moisture, though, since the wooden skewers I use oft end up poking into the ZZ's tubers, so I'm wary of probing soil. Perlite is mixed throughout the soil, in a roughly 50/50 ratio. Photo:...See MoreZZ plant had root rot
Comments (5)looks fine to me.. let it near dry between waterings .... to avoid rotting the rots like they did at the store ... if it gets too dry.. it will wilt a bit.. but then you will now it needs water ... perhaps count the days.. so you can understand how long your mix takes to dry out ... i dont understand why you used a mix of part wet.. and part dry media... but it appears to have worked .. and i sure hope you used media.. and not garden soil ... ken...See MoreBlack spot on new ZZ plant leaf
Comments (1)lets see what it looks like when it unfurls ... and when it does... give us a pic of that.. and a pic of the whole plant ... does the pot drain.. in the middle of the room ... unless its too big.. it should not be all that hard to tip it out of the pot.. and look at the roots ... take a pic.. then just slip if back in the pot ... its usually not panic time when you have a problem with one leaf.. so lets just chill and see what happens ... ken...See Morebradleyd_svh
