My ShopGW win!

I'm so excited!

I've never done and online auction before and I got the first thing I bid on for a good price! I bought the 144 "tiny glass bottles new with caps". I'll be making danglers out of them and hopefully selling them to local garden shops for resale.

Irish Luck and Kiwi Full Monty are both listed as Mediums. But as you can tell from Don Rawson's photo of Irish Luck, it is a very vigorous medium! And, Kiwi Full Monty is also a medium, and it is vigorous too. Therefore, I do not know what to tell you about locating KFM. Someone else who planted Striptease near their walkway had to relocate them because they outgrew the location, overwhelming the path. I think that thread is running around on the back pages of our forum somewhere. My plants in pots are easily adjusted to their growth and also easily hidden when they look ragged. I can move out to prominent spots the top performers. In that respect, I am lucky. But, eventually, if things do not go right, the lump under the rug where I sweep my mistakes gets to be mountain-TALL. :) Do you have ideas where it will go? Fill the bed as you intended and wait for KFM to make its move. Either it likes where you put it and grows like a demon, or it pouts and you move it. Personally, it has grown nicely for me with never a time it did not look good. I'm very pleased with all my Striptease family. Another one, as you can see in the family photo I posted above, that grows similar to KFM with that loose open look, is Yellow Polka Dot Bikini. Whether the two remain similar in form as they grow, only time will tell for me....Maybe I can cheat by checking photos of mature plants, eh....(only problem being, no mature YPDB is in the library photos).

Demon Based on what you've said here, I think you've made the right decision. It concerns me that his reaction is to blame the child and focus on how it affects 'him'. Classic abuser behavior. I'm even a little concerned that his reaction will change from cooperative to hostile when he realizes that tactic won't work. If I were you, I'd set up a strong support system. I have a feeling you are going to need it. I also agree with silver, it's not a waste of time to learn such a valuable lesson. When I left my ex at 29, I spent years feeling sorry for myself because I wasted my 20's in a crappy situation. But, the worse part wasn't the time I wasted, it was that my kids were in that crappy situation for 7 years and you can thank your lucky stars you figured it out in less than a year. Your daughter is young and you can spend some time in counseling and might even think about working on your parenting skills too. Before, you said you were lax in discipline, so now might be a good time to shift your focus on improving things in your life. When I was a single parent, I was also too lax and inconsistent. It's so easy to parent out of guilt too. My kids were pre-teens when I began to force myself to be consistent and push the guilt to the back of my head and it's been tough. I still struggle with guilt because they know how to make me feel guilty. Good luck.

Tl good seeing your kitchen again. I start to drool each time I see it. I love your Viihara back splash. I really wanted it to work for my kitchen. Love seeing your drawer interiors. Don't you love having containers in your drawers! No more avalanches!! Is your dish drawer 39 or 42? I am still dealing with my too heavy 42 inch drawer so have an extra pegboard in the basement. My Win 10 upgrade experience

One worked fine. One has proprietary/industry-specific software that does not work on Win 10. The update/install process did not detect the conflict so I didn't know until after-the fact. Should have checked first with the vendor but the software has been updated within the past 6 months so I assumed it'd be OK. Rolled it back to Win 7 (very easy process). Two (they're not new systems but also not ancient) are incompatible due to no Win 10 drivers for the video chipset. (One of those also runs an industry-specific software package that the vendor says is compatible.) Two claim there are no hardware or software compatibility issues but I'm not going to do them. Both run Microsoft Money Sunset Edition, which I know has a conflict (fixable by a registry edit). Also would have to update the backup software ($$$). Could be other heretofore unknown issues. I advise anyone running Win 10 to have a look at the data sharing options at Settings / Updates & Security / Windows Update / Advanced Options / Privacy Settings. Also at Settings / Updates & Security / Windows Update / Advanced Options / Choose How Windows are Delivered. An option there is enabled by default to use your connection bandwidth to feed downloaded/installed Windows Updates to other PCs.

Way to go, Mimi. Sounds like an exciting win for you. I didn't see them either, but I don't usually look under 'glass', if that's where they were. I can't wait to see your creations with them.

Sandy, I'm so surprised Susie didn't burst into that song first, LOL.
She IS rubbing off on you tho. Too funny.

I am also excited, I won the mama and baby white porcelain deer for my Xmas arrangement next season. Got them for only $5, woooohooooo. And Mama is pretty big at 9" long.
I'm purplemoon on GW, just easier to use that as I didn't want to use my eBay name again.

I missed the bottles too and I usually look under glass! I swear it is that old lady messing with my vision! Can't wait to see what you do with them Mimi. Please post pics as soon as you finish your creations!

As for my moniker on shopggoodwill.com ... it is the same as the one here. lol! I'm so original!

It looks like I will win the bid on a cute cast iron squirrel nut cracker. I thought he would make a great addition to my other cast metal critters for the garden.

Luna, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for your squirrel. My 12 year old son is a squirrel fanatic. He's sure you'll give yours a beautiful home.

Sandy, If I filled those bottles with beer you'd have to drink all of them before you even felt it!

I'm pondering what I'll put in them to give them some sparkle and color. Hmmmm....maybe I can crush some colored glass, maybe beads. I guess that there are lots of possibilities. It's fun to think about them.

Ms. Mimi, how cool!!! I like empty glass bottles too. I have one small one that I filled with multi-colored beads and I'm thinking about getting some real fine glitter and filling another one. The idea of colored glass sounds great too.
Please take pics of your projects. I would love to see what you do with these pretties. Are they all clear or are some of them colored?

Yay! I got my bottles today! I already put seed beads into some. I'll be going to the craft store for stained glass paints and tiny marbles for "stoppers" and what ever else I can think of to give them color. Can't wait to get started making danglers!
