Hubs was reading GJ over my shoulder and he said, Who wrote this one and I said, "Ricochet Rabbit". He said, Who???????? I said "our garden buddy whose ancestors were 'The Good Fairie', 'Cupid', 'Snow White', and my favorite, 'Ricocet Rabbit', dont you just love her heartfelt energy"?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!

What variety is that datura? It's so pretty. The milk jugs are used for winter sowing. You cut the top half almost completely off. Poke some drainage holes in the bottom, fill with soil, plant your seeds then put the top back on. After that you ignore it until it begins to warm up. Some seeds will have already sprouted and be a fairly good size while others will just be coming up. The first year I tried winter sowing I had a couple hundred containers on the deck and I had put too many seeds in each container not realizing how high the germination and survival rate is. I had thousands of seedlings and couldn't bring myself to compost the extras. I ended up potting them up and put an add on Freecycle. I got rid of everything. Freecycle is a great way to get rid of extra plants. I even had people come over and dig up an old lily bed that I wanted to get rid of but didn't want to dig myself. I put an add that said "free daylilies, you dig" and got loads of replies.

Hi all. I usually just lurk here but had to chime in with my story. I was at Goodwill last week and saw an absolutely beautiful rattan desk that just caught my breath. There were other people looking at it but they drifted away. I stood and looked at it and then made myself move away from it. Did I have a place for it? Would it fit in my car? Would I be able to get it out of the car? On and on the questions came and in the end I left without it. When I got home I checked ebay to see if there was anything like it and immediately the regret came. There are similar (but not as nice) desks selling for 500.00 and up. Thank you for your comments and suggestions. I forgot to address the brick tile floor in my opening post. I will be scrubbing it with a grout brush and then either sealing it again, which doesn't really seem to work, or I will check with the person that installed it and see what he suggests. The brick tiles have been installed since 1996. The brick tiles look great every time I wash them, but the grout, not so much. I usually use Murphy's Oil Soap. My DH did not want to go through the upheaval of installing new tile so we need to make them the best they can be. The grout is a charcoal gray, and when seen in person blends with the countertop. We will also be getting a new range hood, and lighting in the kitchen. The drysink seems overly large for the area where it now resides, but that is the only space available. I did not care for it back , and flat against the wall. My DH does not want to angle it any harder because he feels it would stick out at the archway to far. We did try it in the corner between the sliding glass door and the bay window but it looked like a monster hanging over the table. We also took the leaf out of the table which made it square, but neither of us liked that look, and it did not help the 'monster' in the corner. As far as the calender height, I am 5'3", and my DH is 5'10". He tried to strike a happy medium, but it can be lowered if it looks awful. Are the 'twins' to high, also?Is there a 'formula' for placing pictures, decorations etc. on walls? He likes to place them lower than I like, but I guess he is right since that is what you are advising. If I tell him to lower them, he will say. "see, you listen to your HD buddies, but not to me". : ) Thanks again. Jane PS: The drapes were ready made tab tops that I turned in to drapes. Both the tab tops and the valances are from Boscov's where I hope they can get me fabric to match from their distributer. The manufacturer is A.L. Ellis (made in the USA), and the floral pattern is called Glenboro.
