Peace Lily self watering pot

Hi everyone,

I have a massive peace lily in my office. It's in a 12" pot (I planted it in there about three months or four ago. It had about two feet of roots outside of the drainage holes of the previous pot) there are roots on the top of the soil now and I have to water once a day or it gets droopy.

I have a 16" self watering pot with no drainage holes. I'm a little nervous about using it but I figure since it was so thirsty in its previous pot, maybe it will like it here. The soil I plan to use drains nicely, is light and fluffy and stays moist for a while but not too long.

What do you guys think? I've never used self watering pots before so I'm a little nervous. From what I've read, so long as I'm careful not to overwater it should be ok...?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Ryan
