couple questions

I know that you are not supposed to fertilize a plant until its growing season...i am curious as to when all of you start and stop fertilizing your houseplants? Also do you fertilize new plants that your bringing home from the store whether it is growing season or not? I just got a bunch of plants on sale and i did not fertilize them when i replanted.

When you speak of indirect sunlight does that mean that a plant put in a bathroom with no windows but the light is on in the bathroom most of the day, would that be indirect sunlight? I have a beautiful place full sun underneath my living room window where i put a shelf running the length of the window, unfortunately i cannot use it during winter months as baseboard heat is there and it gets too hot to place my plants there so i just put pictures there then.

i am sure i will have a ton more questions since i have had such a horrible time becoming a good gardener inside so i thank you in advance for all your help :).
