What would you do - get rid of buds?

Hi,

I planted 8 bare root currants on April 30th (after 2-3 weeks temporarily in a container with potting soil), 8 different cultivars of white, red and black currant and one Jostaberry. To my big surprice I see that some of them are budding already. The White Imperial is just covered with flowers all over, the others are coming a little later, but I see buds on several.

I wonder what to do. I assume that it would be best to take off all the buds/flowers and let the plants use all their energy to grow a strong root system, but I have a really hard time doing that! Do you know how big difference it would make if I choose to keep the fruit or not? Would I get a lot less fruit (berries) next year?

I am adding a link to some pictures taken today.

Thanks!

Hilde
