Forced Dormancy & Burgess Q's
Comments (11)I did send them an Email verses the poor condition of the plants the first day that I received them. I also read their return policy; which includes a 1 year warranty. And, I saved the shipping boxes because that is a requirement of being able to return the plants. I will take pictures. I never mail anything back for return without requiring a refund on the postage. I just hope they live, because they are beautiful trees, my favorite when it comes to pines. The Double Fuchsia is a pretty house plant also. I will nurse them and hope that they live. The prices were so good I could not resist. BUTT, I will NOT be ordering anything from them again. The whole "forced into dormancy" thang bothers me anyway..It just seems abusive to the plant, unnatural. Truly I do not consider myself an experienced gardener. I know a lot more then I did 5 years ago and I do know how to save a plant when nothing is alive except the roots. It takes a lot to kill a pine tree.. Thanks for your help....I will let you know if the plants survive.....See MoreBuyer Beware
Comments (8)when i used to order ...I NEVER GOT ALL THAT I ORDERED.. PERIOD .... first.. there is crop failure.... and mini always fail to some degree ... second ... and this is what took me the longest to understand ... you waited too long for delivery ... those peeps in z8, 7,6 ... got their orders weeks ago .. eating up the entire inventory .... if you want to insure that you get certain plants.. you have to ask for their first shipping date.. and then figure out how to keep them alive in z5 until you can plant them outdoors fully leafed out ... if they offered you a credit or a refund.. frankly... you have nothing to complain about ... almost all vendors.. of any plant... will ask you to list substitutes... for just such reason ... of course.. the problem is.. you have some vested interest in the ones you did NOT get.. and dont really care about the substitutes ... been there.. many a time ... no nursery is going to inventory all the orders that come in during winter... to keep track of exactly what has been ordered.. nor run out in winter with every order.. and mark the plants SOLD .. i wish it were so .. but it just isnt going to happen .... i have many HAVE TO HAVE conifers.. that i have been ordering for 5 years straight ... its part of the game.. and part of the fun .. though hard to swallow at times ... lol .. and then i am usually let down when i get the thing... because it will never live up to the hype in my mind ... the same thing used to happen when i ordered hosta.. before TC became so readily available ... all that said.. i have never worked with.. nor know this vendor .... ken...See Morebuyer beware bogus 'pink parfait' stolen pics
Comments (24)James, you have every right to express your concerns. This is fraud because the seller is showing something that is probably not what he is selling. You and I have had so may pictures stolen and used to sell who knows what. Pretty pictures sell to addicts but there is nothing sadder than finding your cutting from that pretty picture is a mediocre flower and it happens to anyone in this business long enough. I am sure this is the case for you more than me because of your extensive purchases over decades. I once gave someone a G.S. that turned out to be a Lani, which was a step up in my book- but I gave them a G.S. later. Sometimes labels blow away or break and you just wonder what that plant is. But intentionally misrepresenting someone else's picture as that of your plant is fraud and ranks with breaking/stealing branches from other's plant....See MoreBeware of mail order scam - House of Wesley
