Transplanted, now plants are all turning yellow

We had quite a few potted plants around the house during the winter and now that we are having a very early spring we decided to move them outside.

Before doing that, I decided to re-pot the plants in new soil for the summer. I took the plants out and used a hose to spray off quite a bit of the soil from the roots and try to give them a fresh start with new soil (mistake?). I potted them again in with some cheap walmart potting soil.

In the past 4 days, the leaves have turned from green to yellow to almost white! The plants affected are a money plant, bamboo plant, and a elephant ear type plant. I did the same procedure with a fern and a vine plant and they look ok. What can I do to fix this and save these guys.

Thanks,

Eric
