It probably is simple transplant shock, especially with the cold/cool weather. Have you fertilized or watered and if so how much?

When i planted it a week ago i added a little Jobes organics all purpose granular fertilizer. Then watered them. The first 2 nights it got sown to mid 40s but its been in the mid 70s to 80 ever since with 2 days of rain. But we have had lots of Sun on the other days. The ground was looking a little dry yesterday so i did water a bit.

I think you are probably ok. The ones I put out two weeks ago got mid-30's and then a day and a half later close to 90. They are just now getting back to normal. One thing I would say is if you are getting regular rains you probably don't need any extra water, depending on soil type. If the top looks dry, dig down several inches in the vicinity and if there is moisture there the plants will be ok. If the plants look wilted and no moisture in the root zone then I would water.

Ok thanks. My hubby says in doomed. That i have a black thumb...lol. heck i killed a cactus once. Funny story. I bought a flowering cactus that had a flower in it and was so proud of it. Then my hubby pointed out that the flower was glued on... he won't let me live that one down.

You'll do fine. Main thing is not to love them too much. I would give them another week and you should see an improvement. If not you might post a pic as there are several good posters here on diseases and other problems.

Most common cause is over-watering and if you had 2 days of rain then they sure didn't need any more watering. Especially if it was also cool weather.

Most gardeners, especially when new, way over-water and you can't go by the appearance of the surface soil. So learn to stick your finger way down in the ground first to see if water is really needed and when in doubt do not water. They will tolerate too little water much better than they will too much.

GardenWebber sprouts_honor (Jennifer from Cleveland) had a wonderful suggestion on how to tell whether or not you need to water your tomatoes, and I quote here: "Get a wooden dowel rod (or two) and sink it in the ground near a plant or two and leave it. Pull it out when you think you need to water. If the top is dry and the bottom is a little damp, it's time to water. If it looks dark and feels saturated, wait to water. I use this technique with potted plants that don't like being over watered and it's helpful with in ground plants too."

Two or three dowels stuck in the ground in the garden amounts to cheap insurance. I myself put a couple in each row of tomatoes in the garden and use them to adjust the timing on my drip system if it needs it. I will also put one next to any tomatoes that don't appear to be doing as well as it's neighbors as that can tell me if a dripper is partially clogged or I need to check for another solution.
