I think I'm weakening...kinda long
Comments (18)My one comment is that even if you decide not to take it, wouldn't it be better to have it fixed anyway? You know what's gonna happen! That said, I too think "Culver" has chosen you. It's kind of wooded in your area isn't it? Remember the late Larry "Bud" Melmin of the David Letterman Show? His name was Calvert DeForest.... Culvert DeForest... is that a little spooky?????? More than a coincidence perhaps??? My sister had a cat come to her house and chose her. She made the poor thing weather a terrible winter before finally giving in to her the next summer. My cousin did the same thing. They were chosen. And it's an honor. Think of it this way: This way if you're feeling "gray" it could be a good thing! Better than feeling 'blue"! One thing, these don't sound like feral cats, especially with "Culvert" came up to you like s/he did. (BTW, the translation there was what's for dinner mom???) I'm sure they'll adjust to indoor life just fine. And I'm sure they'll like the furnace at this time of year. You might start with him/her in the basement if you have one. But I don't think you'll need to. I have some pet food coupons I could mail you! :D...See MoreI think I'm busted! bcs I think I got rid of it
Comments (14)I, too, understand about the American Girl thing. My daughter has a trunk of beautiful clothes for her AG dolls, all purchased from her grandmother. I will *never* be the one to give any of this away or she will be posting one day about how she can't forgive ME! As for getting rid of husband's stuff...this is sort of along the same lines. My husband loves car races and has a favorite tee shirt he wears only when he attends a race. It's sponsored by Marlboro. Well, one day a telemarketer called and I picked up the phone (before caller I.D.!) and they wanted to do a survey on what kinds of cigarettes my husband smokes. Thoroughly disgusted, I exclaimed, "My husband has NEVER smoked." End of discussion. I was so proud of the fact that I ended THOSE phone calls. Awhile later my husband wondered why Marlboro wasn't sending him free racing tee-shirts and stuff anymore. Somehow we got on the conversation about that phone call and how I couldn't believe they thought he smoked. My husband looked at me with this incredulous look and said, "You didn't tell them I don't smoke, did you?" Yep. He was so upset and STILL is. Now they won't send him anything because they know the truth and he is still mad about it! So he has that one racing shirt that has little holes starting in the neckline but he refuses to part with it. And I definitely will *not* be the one to give away, considering I'm already in the doghouse about the other stuff! Sheryl...See MoreI Know I'm Weird...but,
Comments (20)I try not to use more water than absolutely necessary when cooking the potatoes, the some goes back into the potatoes when I mash them. The rest goes into the gravy usually.never thought of watering plants with it but as I say I don't use that much water to cook them in the first place.Sometimes I save it and add to leftover potatoes for potato soup. Also, with just DH and myself I rarely buy potatoes because they will go bad before I can use them all.I use instant a lot for us.So to make a big batch with instant and only one potato on hand for company,I cook the potato in a couple cups of water, mash it up in the water it was cooked in then add instant flakes until I get the consistency I want.Add butter, salt and pepper and cream or milk.My family can't tell that they are mostly instant potatoes....See MoreI'm must be weird cause the more 'unevenness' I find...
Comments (13)I'm very very grateful. As many know, I've been working on this for 3 years. No KD, no designer ('cept our GW'er designers), everything I bought piecemeal and held on to it for over a year. Much work we did on our own or GC'd it. DH was hands on even with the work we hired out like electrical. I had the picture in my head of what it would look like and walked through against blank broken down walls how it would function. I"ve been living out of suitcases going back and forth between my house and this house for work. So I really didn't know how it would turn out. DH couldn't picture it and just had to trust me. Hopefully Florida JOshua comes on Monday to install the soapstone and then the sink can get hooked up and DW. I then have a REAL functioning kitchen. The other day I sold the massive wall unit from my home. The dining room set is already down here. My son's room is empty except for the bed on the floor since he moved to NY almost a year ago. It no longer feels like the home I raised my boys in. I stayed there myself Thursday night and it was weird. Felt like a house; but not a home. All the walls are empty and light switch plates off since my son painted for me when he came for a visit. I'm ready to move on to the next phase of my life. This remodel represents alot to me... :-)...See Moreaustransplant
