growing apple on long island-any advice

hi friends,

last year i planted a self pollinating dwarf apple

last year, it came to me in a weakened state

and developed many problems, there was leaf

curl do to caterpillars so i applied rotenone

and it came back a little, but still was never growing.

i cultivated near the trunk and saw many grubs moving about

i then watered around the tree with sevin and solved

that problem. now this year i applied two coats

of dormant oil and two coats of copper sulfate.

it is doing so much better and has the most beautiful

blossoms. any advice on where to go from here?

also how prevalent is plum curculio on long island?

i'm not 100 percent organic but i'm a little afraid

of very strong chemicals.
