ficus problems

Hey ,

I have a large ficus benjamina (6fet tall).

It has some scale which I have been fighting with rubbing alcohol. I used this method last spring and it worked to get rid of it, but now it has come back.

A new problem seems to have risen on top of the scale. Some of the leaf edges and tips are turning yellow and dropping off. Some times the yellow edges turn dry, brittle brown, sometimes the leaf just becomes mottled yellow and drops.

The leaves that do this sometimes have small scale on them and sometimes not.

Is this just a problem related to the scale or a new problem?

It did not happen last spring with the scale, so I am confused.

Also any other better suggestions for what to spray it with to get rid of the scale?

I am thinking about neem oil. Has anyone had success with this?

I don't want to use any dangerous pesticides in doors.

Thanks for any help!

I am frustrated but want to save this great tree!
