Spaghetti squash - when to harvest?

I searched the forum and found a little info, but nothing specific to my situation.

I planted some spaghetti squash but thought it died. I am sharing a garden plot with my sister-in-law, and she planted some acorn squash, which is what I thought was growing. Well, there were no fruits on the vines when I was last at the garden a week ago, or maybe I forgot to check, but when I was out there today, I have a score or more of spag squash, much to my surprise!

The Burpee package of seeds says to harvest when it's turned from green to yellow. Well, none of it is either green or yellow--it is all white! Even the little ones. I could perhaps believe that *maybe* it has a *slightly* greenish cast to it, but it sure seemed just plain old white to me.

So now what? Does it go from white to yellow? Or did I miss yellow and it went to white? Should I relax and watch what happens? Will the stems start to shrivel, or what rules of thumb should I use here?

Thanks!!!
