Overwinter eggplant indoors?

Sounds premature to ask, especially during a July heat wave, but has anyone done this?

I had unusual success with overwintering three hot pepper plants indoors last year (root pruned, top pruned back hard, fresh potting soil, good sunny window), so I'm wondering whether other plants in same family (solanceae? spelling?) can tolerate or survive the same treatment.

The hot peppers bloomed very early outdoors and are producing magnificently -- in the words of my Welsh friend, I'm "dead-chuffed" (that's a good thihg meaning very pleased).
