Question about multi-grafting a sweet cherry.

Hi,

I have a 5' tall, straight sweet cherry tree(Prunus avium 'Stella') sapling that is on Gisella-5 rootstock.

Can I make a 3-in-1 multi-graft cherry using the tree I already have? The only thing is, I wanted to know if it advisable for me to graft different cultivars on the branches that are technically 'Stella' wood?

I was concerned that 'Stella' is very vigorous and will counter the dwarfing effect of the dwarfing rootstock, that grafting branches onto the 'Stella' trunk and limbs might even be rejected?

How can I make this work and not have to start all over again with a new tree that I will order that is already a multi-graft?

Thanks,

Steve
