Humbly request cherry planting advice please

I have my apple trees taken care of and decided to buy a cherry tree to mix it up a little. I know its a little late to be planting fruit trees here in zone 7 but they had them at the local nursery. After a couple hours research on this forum and the web, I bought a Montmorency. I have mostly clay soils and room for two or three but thought I'd start with one to boot. I searched old threads before this post in an attempt to not aggravate forum-goers.

My questions:

The fella that RUNS the nursery did not know what rootstock the Montmorency was grafted onto. Is there some other way I can tell by examining? color? spots, etc? It would really help to know next spring when I go to pair it with another.

The other question is what is the best way to ammend the planting hole? I have already taken soil tests and added lime. PH is around 6.5-7.0 now. I can't find what cherry trees like though, like peat moss, composted cow manure added, etc.

I am grateful for any advice from you folks.
