Cucumbers

So I picked up a Burpless (sp?) Hybrid from Home Depot a couple months ago and it has been growing beautifully. It started off giving me nothing but male flowers but now it's non stop females. I started to grow concern when i noticed several of the cucs that were beginning to get big just stopped and have been stopped for a couple weeks. Where as some that developed after those have been harvested and long since been digested.

I then started noticing yellowing around some of the flowers at the bottom and then around the top of the plant some of them started to get like this straw yellowing spots in them where holes shortly developed.

Any ideas? I'm thinking magnesium deficiency but not sure if this could be viral. I did notice one of the stems at the bottom has slight yellow spots as well.

Are they getting enough water? Too much fertilizer?

Old leaves are pale suggests nitrogen shortage.

Are the plants in containers or garden soil?
Have you fertilized?
-- If so, when and with what?

Oh yes, not viral.

So, doing some reading on MH and HPS bulbs I'm starting to realize my oversight possibly. I'm still a little confused as what I'm reading says that some people actually grow vegetative stages under an HPS bulb and some ONLY bloom under one. Well, I'm trying to go the most conservative method at this point and TRYING to avoid a two stage system as far as running TWO lights. I mean I can live with two stages of nutrient reservoirs BUT I really want to figure out a solution for lighting that isn't going to cost me a fortune running two fixtures. So, I guess my real question now is, CAN I grow EVERYTHING I want, bloom, vegetative, etc under one particular bulb? Like I said earlier, I can live mixing two different stages of nutrients but PLEASE help me with the possibilities of what can be done under one bulb. I'm really trying to keep a rotation of new plants and established plants and am trying to do this under one 1000 watt bulb if possible. Thanks so much for any input.

The one on the right was left on the vine too long. Cukes are picked while still green. So, with the yellowing, you now have a ripe cucumber. Still edible. You can search for possible uses/recipes. Once the vine begins to produce cukes, harvest every day or two. If cukes are allowed to ripen, the vine will shut down further production. The cuke on the left wasn't completely pollinated and is also "ripe."

If what you have is really BW then the pathogenic bacteria is systemic and in the fruit as well. I wouldn't eat them but it is your choice. If you have researched BW then you know there is an easy test you can do to determine if that is really what it is. Squash plants can be affected by it but the odds heavily favor one of the more common squash problems instead. If either plant recovers after watering or when "out of the sun" then it isn't BW. Dave

Used some Miracle Gro stuff from Lowes. Kind of new at this so now sure what i'm really doing haha. Glad to hear it's not really disease. Any suggestions on fertilizer? Oh and these are in a raised bed.

I do not understand what your concern is: Lack of fruit or problem with the leaves ???
Cucumber leaves are very sensitive to environmental and handling causes. They get bruised easily.. and the rest.

About fertilizing: I will use a balanced fertilizer(N,P,K). Some MG all purpose ferts have too much Nitrogen, that can result in nice foliage but not necessarily good fruiting. IMO.
