Black Raspberry - Making Room

So I was walking through Home Depot today and saw a Jewel Black Raspberry plant for sale... and I couldn't resist. I bought it. But here's the problem... space. Right now I have a vegetable garden that has a section 51 inches wide at the back of which live 2 Heritage Raspberry plants. Expanding the garden is on the absolute bottom of my list of options. I don't mind if they flop over the edge of the 51 inch growing space (the one already does), but I don't want to affect production for any of the plants since it's up against the wall of the unattached garage and only gets one direction of sunlight.

Does anyone know how much crowding raspberries can take before the production is affected? There might be just enough space between the 2 Heritage plants if they enjoy being crowded (though it might make harvesting interesting at best). Can you successfully container a black raspberry? What size container would you need for something like that and what kind of potting soil would you use?

Thanks for the suggestions.
