Persimmons and Pears....choices between 2 varities

Hi all, the kids like asian pears but I'd like a european pear so I'm getting the chojuro (asian) but I can't decide between conference or bella di guigno for the european. Does anyone have either of these and can offer your opinion on which one or the why (i.e diseases, taste, maintanance, zone factors, ect.)?

Also, I love grocery persimmions, but never had a native varity. Asians sound better taste wise, American sound better for hardiness (at least for us zone 5ers). Nikita's gift sounds like the best of both worlds, Meader sounds like it can withstand. Does anyone have experience with these? Has anyone been successful growing Nikita's in zone5 ? Thanks everyone, marnie
