As a 1st time gardner, I put in a 20 x 40 garden and didn't know what I was doing.

With that said, I must say, everything is doing ok for now.

My corn is about 2 feet tall, the cucumber is just started to flower, as well as my cantalope. I'm picking lettuce, spinach, zukes, squash and today a hot pepper. The Toms are flowering and I noticed I've got a few green ones now and other plants seem to be doing ok.

With what I now know, I'll be better preparded next year and know how to space my plants. In fact, I think, I'll start a 2nd garden about 10 x 20' just for things like lettuce, spinach, greens and what not, but plant a little at a time about 2 weeks apart. That way, I'll have alonger season.

Now, if I could only find my digital camera, I'd post a picture for all to see...

BTW, my beans are getting bigger, but man is the growth rate of the plants slow. I'm thinking about ripping them out and putting in another squash or pumpkin...

to all you 1st or 2nd year gardners out there, how's your garden coming along??
