HI Jorge, What really matters is how they were handled before you got them.....they should be removed from their berry and planted immediately.....they should be stored in damp potting mix or shipped in a damp paper towel....these can not be allowed to dry out before they get planted. Anyway, on to the question.....pot them in whatever you grow your Amorphophallus in ( can not comment here because our conditions are soooo vastly different)....nothing different is necessary. Yes, maintaining humidity is what you want to do and the dome is a good idea. Put them in a bright light spot....just like the mother plants.....I would not suggest full sun at all.....I germinate mine under a grow light or just in front of a window. These are very easy to germinate and you should expect a very high % growing unless the seed were not handled properly before you received them. I've seen a bunch of these on ebay and I can only hope that after they take the pic of the seed they take care of them properly after that. Best of luck :o) Dan

I am not sure exactly how big as I got them in a trade .....but this is what they say about them "King size sunflowers that can reach up to 3.5m (14 feet) tall! Great for backgrounds or temporary hedges. " Sunflower - Kong If you want a really big sunflower, Kong is the one to raise. Reaching 12 feet tall, Kong is even more impressive because it's multi-branched and covered with 4-6 inch yellow blooms offset by large, dark green leaves. Heavy stalked and very sturdy. Grow a forest of these giants and you'll have to keep an eye out for big monkeys! I'll start looking for you....no sense in spending money if you dont have to . Signet

Gauteng. Not far off indeed ! I'm from Gauteng...the capital Pretoria. This might be the easiest area you mean.? It's the financial capital as well, so things are easy accessible. Money talks!! I've seen a pamphlet of cycad permits at a local nursery here. It did stipulate that if the trunk is wider than 400mm (approx 16" in your language), you would need a permit. It's not a hard and fast rule as I tried to mention earlier. Only people who collect and have a passion for cycads are aware of these permits. Others have them in their gardens and are unaware what plant it is. People purchase properties with cycads on the premises and are unaware of it's origins or status. Permits are a "good" idea to prevent theft or poaching, but if enforced, will only drive attention towards these species...and in this country people look towards it as money and then the species will definitely be in greater danger. In SA, people steal electrical cables as soon as there is a power outage because copper to the poor is money. They are not concerned of the damage that is brought about to large companies dependant on electronics and technology. A few rands (dollars) of copper costs a company millions of rands in damage. I'm not saying this will happen with the cycad industry, but where there's money to be made in our country, people flock there without any concern of side effects.
