Non-honey bee pollinators - pic

Don't know if this is too small to see or not, but I've been back out to my melon patch, and it is swarming with small bees that aren't honey bees. They aren't cucumber beetles, which I know well, but tiny bees that buzz and hover and flit from flower to flower just like their bigger cousins. I saw a honey bee in the crowd, too, but no bumblebees. One of the tiny bees dive-bombed the HB away from a blossom. There were also what appeared to be tiny darting flies that I couldn't photograph.

Here's another one, again very small and probably unidentifable, but they don't stay put long!

I guess I won't have to hand-pollinate my melons!
