Honestly, I am not sure I would make a point of mentioning it. A simple "Happy Holidays from our Home to Yours!â (which connects to the drawing on the front of the card). Then on the inside left, your new address as of OO/OO/OOOO. I guess in my mind, the people who will care that you have moved will likely know that anyway. Otherwise, it seems a little odd to make a point of mentioning that you have a new home. If you were doing a housewarming party at the holidays, and this were an invitation to that, perhaps it would be another story. You have to show us the drawing when it is done. Is the artist going to do some kind of wreath or other holiday item on the card version of the drawing? Congrats on your new home.

At the other end of an invisible eight thousand mile-long-string, a black woman with perfectly straightened hair and considerable girth lay naked on a bed of fresh goose feathers and straw, waiting for the driver of said sleigh, just as she'd done for centuries. Merry Christmas to all! It’s Christmas morning here and the forecast is for 93F. Better than last week’s 107F :-). Yes I’m roasting a turkey breast just for DH and I, I love turkey and leftovers. We had the big family gathering last night, BIL and SIL did the turkey but it was dry and the gravy was weird (had mustard in it) :-( I don’t think they really understand turkey, SIL is from Czech Republic and BIL is one of those who can’t be told anything because he’s read a book about it. They seemed to find the Christmas hosting exhausting so with luck next year it will be at our other SIL’s place. It can’t be mine as DH’s uncle is in a wheelchair in a nursing home and getting a special wheelchair taxi to bring him for the 200km round trip isn’t really a possibility. I did the ham and the desserts. I was pleased with the ham which I got from my local butcher who smokes his own hams and bacon, both of which are delicious. I saw in the paper he was awarded third in the state competition for hams by the Australian Pork Association. I think this is amazing considering that most of the producers are in the city. Desserts were a lemon custard tart (a firm family favourite), Eton Mess made with fresh strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, and brownies. I had baked and frozen the brownies earlier in the week and realised yesterday morning that in the rush to pack up for the trip to the city I had forgotten them :-(. Yes, I made the 200km round trip to get them, it was easier than trying to bake another batch at DH’s culinarily limited apartment. But worth it as DH’s nephew scarfed down three as soon as they hit the table :-). Today just DH and I will have turkey and gravy, bread stuffing and sausagemeat stuffing with cranberries, Brussels sprouts -possibly with bacon (haven’t decided yet), tartiflette, and Portuguese egg tarts for dessert.
