Lessons from our great-grandparents

Michael

I think often of my great-grandparents whom I am fortunate to have known. They were orchardists in New Concord, Ohio being born there in the late 1800's and living out their lives in the area. I have fond memories of one of their orchards and the tool sheds but not much else as I was only about 7 when they died. What might they be able to teach me if they were alive today about growing fruit trees? What knowledge have we lost from those millions of small orchardists such as my great-grandparents that may never be found?

What do you think?
