I'd love to see her too! My stray kills bugs and catches mice and moles in the garden, I wish he would chase off deer too!

Has she been "fixed"? Might need to breed a cat like that! My stray would be a good mix with her! ;)

I will try to get a pic of Pekee this weekend :) She was kinda wild when we first moved in, but after working with her, she's part of the family. I think she was adopted then abandoned. Here in this County in cali, when someone adopts a cat or kitten they have to be spayed or neutered. The way they do it, is during the surgery they cut the tip of one ear off. This is how I know she was fixed, So she can't have kittens, I am glad though. Happy gardening :)

I also used to let my dog take care of the garden, I do organic. I found he was actually hurting the garden more than helping. The urine if he used it in the garden will burn plants. He would eat frogs and kill garden snakes. He would also chase away birds. All of these are BUG eaters. I dont keep let him go around the garden any more. I'll let the frogs, snakes and birds eat the pest that are eating my plants.

I wish my cat can free roam in the garden too. There're so many vermins and rabbits, almost 80% of my work went into prevent, damage control or free labor for them. But we have too many predators out there, so it's house arrest for my cat for life. I feel really sorry for him...

I'd be hip deep in rabbits if it weren't for the cats. And mice and voles.

If it was cooler, my kitties would be out chasing that baby bunny in my black raspberry canes. The bunny already ate one of my pimiento plants. Now the peppers are fences in. I showed him! Now if we can clone Pekee, I'd buy one if he could chase all the squirrels. My new cat likes to try to catch flies. Sad enough, she has not gotten one.

Pekee leaves the birds alone for some reason, the only time I saw her go after a bird was when a black bird was in our corn. Other birds go in the garden but they are just eating bugs, she hasn't shown any interest in them. when another cat comes on to the property, she will chase them and fight with them. I had to break up a fight between her and a larger cat. We have two other cats, but they are indoor cats. They are purebred White Turkish Angoras. They are both deaf, They have never been out side except when they go to the vet. Pekee was raised out side and is street smart so to say. I will try to get pics of her this weekend. Well Pekee did it again last evening, I was on the porch watching two young does and an young buck at our fence line just watching them (about 75 yards away)in tall dried grass then I saw something black jump up in the air right in front of the deer and spooked them away from our property!It was her......!!! My boyfriend said "We have to get a pic of her on the GW. Sorry we haven't done it yet but we have been busy putting in new beds last two weeks :/

I just had to read this as I took a zyrtec. I have a girlfriend who has cats and we will have seperate houses as long as she has cats. She thinks it can all be solved by a zyrtec pill, But I just cant live with a cat in the house. I itch, sneeze and scratch everytime I go there.

I think our cats are friendly with the deer here. When we call for them in the evening they often come bounding out of the brush where the deer are hanging out. When I called for one of them the other evening he came out of the tall grass and the resident doe stood up from her resting place several feet away and took several steps toward the building. She always seems interested in the cats, and is getting used to our calling them in at night.

Our cat likes to lurk under the blackberry bushes. We get the best berries from the bottom two feet of each cane. Not a coincidence.
