The angular gaps in the 2nd picture suggests birds.

The small around holes are something else, and insignificant, at least for now.

I would suspect ants. Look very very closely at the main stem especially close to the ground and see if you can see any ants or ant like insects moving up and down the plants the way ants do. They may be very tiny so use a magnifying glass if you have one. I had this problem on my peppers and my eggplants this year. I dusted them really well with a product called Diatect. It worked well for me. It's a combination of Pyrethrins and Diatomaceous Earth. Works really good for ants. I originally bought it for stink bugs but it didn't work at all for them.

The holes could be caused by snails and/or slugs. I agree about the other damage being caused by birds. The last picture suggests something different though, with the margins of the leaf eaten away. Perhaps crickets?

Check for these pests in the evening, at night or early morning. Snails, slugs and crickets aren't very active during the day.

Maybe grasshoppers? I have a few, I take a fly swatter when I go out to the garden, have killed a few that way.

I have heard some others suggest that if you can't seem to catch the little buggers in action, try inspecting your leaves late at night or early in the morning. Some things feed at night, and can be discovered by nocturnal sleuthing.
