Hey, here's my pictures, from Photobucket:

These are mamoth grey stripe sunflowers and at their feet, carrots (Nantes half-long). There's some strawberries in there too (they're my favorite "weed").

The sunflowers are all different sizes because I had to replant five times due to squirrel and roofing contractor damage.

Here's the main "front" garden. Just last year, this was lawn. I dug in leaves last fall, after desodding, and worked in compost this year. Things are doing great! {{gwi:66762}}
On the right are onions interplanted with two tomato plants (grape and cherry). Behind them, also interplanted, are three bell pepper plants. In the middle section are Yukon gold potatoes, with some marigolds at the very front, but I doubt you can see them. I'll be using this bed for fall crops as soon as the potatoes fall over, which should be soon. The bed furthest left has shelling peas, parsley, marigolds and spineless beauty zucchini in it, with sunflowers and pole beans at the back, next to the fence.

This is the "back" garden, which was my original garden space. Now it has corn (Celestial) and pole beans (Kentucky Wonder), with four tomato plants on the other side of the trellis (First Lady). I have two other First Lady 'maters tucked in elsewhere.{{gwi:66763}}

Also tucked away in little spots is sage and thyme, chives and more strawberries, nasturtiums, coriander and mint. The strawberries are a mix of everbearing and June-bearing. I've only got 200 square feet for gardening, maybe 225 if you count the "tucked in" spots or 250 if we count the strawberries. So everything is planted really densely and I work real hard on the soil quality.

I think I've said something about this before on a different thread you started. While everything looks healthy, I suggest more light, and larger areas of soil for the plants to grow in. In the future, you might want to consider a raised bed. Or much larger containers (20 liter containers) for tomatoes. The larger the containers, the more room the root system has to grow, the larger your plants will be, and the higher your yield will be.

I'd be getting those into the ground if at all possible. Especially the tomatoes and squashes need to be establishing a broad and extensive root system at that size, so as to support the fruit they'll soon be making. If you can't get them into the ground (it looked like some of your tomatoes already were in the ground), then at least get them into the biggest containers you can. I had tomatoes yield okay (10 tomatoes or so) in five gallon containers full of pretty much pure compost. They did better in the ground, didn't dry out as fast or get stressed as easily.

Since the pictures aren't labeled, it's hard to tell what's going on. Is that the garden, or the staging area? Is there a reason why they're in containers (like limited garden space)?

My garden is very limited on size and also because of it being my parents house I am limited to some extent on what I can do. If it was down to me I`d turn the whole back garden into a vegetable patch leaving paths where necessary. I could buy bigger pots but Ive already spent a lot of money on containers and compost this year and the total just keps adding and I have to stop with it somewhere along the line. The majority of my plants are in grow bags and the pumpkin plant was planted into the ground at the weekend even that was hard finding space for that. I wasnt planning on keeping the tomatoes I was going to sell the ones that are in 2l pots but I ran into problems with them which I have overcome now but I have no selling point, whereas I can give away as many tomatoes as I can grow. Im not to worried about yield with the 2l pots because I have a plentiful supply for myself and my family with what is grown in the grow bags. The large brown containers have onions in them and the smaller clay pots have leeks in them. This year is really more of an experimentation for me to see what plants best suit my garden, where theyre suited etc as I havent grown veg here before.
I did have a large plot of land which belonged to a relative of mine but that has been sold now. Allotments are also very difficult to get round here and the waiting list is as long as my arm.

You can still build 4x4 (feet) portable raised beds with pine sides and plywood bottom. Think of them as larger containers. As for containers and compost, you can post on FreeCycle.org and ask for nursery pots. You can take your own yard debris and put it in a plastic trash can and create your own compost bin. If you can acquire enough material you can have finished compost in two weeks.

If space is a premium and planting in containers is your main growing method, then next year do greens, radishes, onions and herbs. Carrots too if you get the right kind. They all do well in containers. Look especially for things with shallow root systems. Consider a potato "tower" that you build upwards.

The basic/normal plants with the largest root systems are melons/squashes (which includes pumpkins), tomatoes/peppers/nightshades, and brassicas (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) There's a lot you can grow in small/shallow containers. Things to remember is that they exhaust the soil quality quickly and need to be fertilized more often. They exhaust water much more quickly and probably need watering once a day. But what am I saying? You're already doing fine growing stuff in containers. If you got your plants as big as they are in the pictures, you know how to grow in a container.
