I also agree about not spraying anything for bugs - long ago I did, and that was a horrible mistake - none of our fruit trees (pomegranites, plums, & figs) had hardly any fruit that year, I am afraid because I killed most of the pollinators. However, we do not have Japanese beetles here, so I don't have that challenge. I hand pick the curlicue rose beetles when I see them, but frankly they like my Cecile Bruner which goes up over 30 feet, and I don't climb up to get them, and the rose seems to bloom well anyway. We have lots of lady bugs and soldier bugs which eat the aphids. Also, several times a Spring we get HUGE flocks of teeny tiny grey birds - I think they are called bush tits. They are about the size of a hummingbird, but are shaped like sparrows. You notice them because of their very high squeeky calls. Hundreds show up on one giant flock and immediately settle on all of the rose bushes. The first time I saw them I was alarmed until I went to see what they were doing - they were eating aphids! That absolutely settled my decision not every to spray any insecticides. They come back 2 or 3 times each Spring now, when the aphids are at their height. As everyone else says, if you are not lucky enough to get visited by bush tits, and you can't stand it, just blast the aphids off with water from a hose - it is very satisfying. Jackie

ok , so the beer works - and boy-howdy does it work. after scooping out ( with a spoon ) all the dead slugs i left the pans with the left-over beer just to see what would happen --- came back about 4 hours later to find double the amount of dead slugs floating in the pans ( i think one must have escaped and went to tell all the slugs in the area that theres free beer over in my yard ) i think all i'm doing is luring them to a free drink and their death. slugs are not like bees - a certain number living together that i can get rid of them all and be done with it , this would be an on going battle ( i'm not licensed to set up a bar in my yard ) nothing is going to get rid of them once and for all so , i guess for this year the slugs have won :( what ever comes up comes up and i'll be happy for it -- maybe next spring i can spray or powder or whatever to get a head start and maybe win the battle , same goes for the lil' red ba$%ards ( lilly beetles ) maybe next year i can get a head start be well & enjoy the rest fo the day - mic

Well obviously your bin has been massively infested with the top dwelling red/brown color phase of oblongitoids. Get rid of them fast before they escape to eat the garage and invade your nightmares. Seriously, we need a tiny bit more to go on. Throw us a bone. Can we buy a vowel? Your description leads me to millipede but I doubt that is it. Common creatures in worm bins are spring tails and mites. And potworms but aren't they usually white? Maybe not. What we need to help: length of creature width of creature does the creature move? how fast? Does it have segments? Do they have legs? If so how many? Is the creature shiny? Do they have a shell? Do they avoid the light? Six more facts about what you see. Google worm bin creatures click images and give us more hints. Do it now while you still have a garage and sound sleep.

Thank you both! Hopefully someone will drop by & know for sure about the bugs/best way to treat. If not I'm going to do an experiment tomorrow>>>soil drench w/the bayer 3 in 1 & clean the leaves w/rubbing alcohol & q-tips! If it survives great if not mom already gave the ok to toss it. I do have it isolated but I definitely don't want an outbreat/infestation in the house. Have dealt that before with aphids & DON'T want to live that nightmare again w/any bug! If I have to resort to experimenting, can it be repotted into the new mix after the bug issue is taken care of, wait until it's finished blooming or spring time? Thanks :)
