What garden/gardener inspires your design in your garden?
Comments (16)So many interesting websites, to get inspired by, these days. I loved the Oudolf site as well. I wish I had room to put in a truly huge mass planting, and still be the plant collector I find myself to be. Maybe some day I`ll be able to do that. In the meantime, it is wonderful to live vicariously through others and their gardens. I agree, Gottagarden`s gardens are inspiring. The red garden she posted in 06 has always been a favourite of mine. I wish I had the space. Hmmm, I say that a lot. :) I just bought hot Papaya Echinacea and love it. I`m sure she`d approve. :) Gottagarden`s picasa site Yeona Here is a link that might be useful: Gottagarden`s red garden...See MoreA Little Taste Of Spring
Comments (11)Oh, wow! You guys have some wonderful things emerging and/or blooming! Great pictures! Ryan, we just potted up an order of Tree Peonies that came in, and though I've never grown these, the pictures look fantastic. So, I'm really hoping that they take off! We'll sell most, but there's a double yellow we're keeping for the yard! I wonder if you were to give your Peony a cold period in a refrigerator... do you think that would help it set buds? I don't know that much about Peonies. I'm just glad this Pink one is coming back stronger... it was so tiny last year, and it got run over by that truck that flattened the south garden! Jan, I will email you... I love your photos! You always have something lovely in bloom! That orange Epidendrum is so nice, crawling all over like it owns the garden! And those tomato and eggplants look so healthy and nice! And I can almost smell that Plumeria... I don't know if that one has a scent, but I imagine it must! You've got mail! Lila, very nice pictures! You have some of the same things we have, though some of ours are not blooming quite yet, or the photos didn't turn out. I tried to get photos of our species Tulips and blue Hyacinths, but the camera messed up the colors. I love your statue! And it looks like you have Lilies coming up, too! We have a few Tilliums and Hostas just breaking ground here, and I noticed yesterday that a Virginia Bluebell is getting ready to bloom! This is my favorite time of year... everything awakens and pushes up through the garden soil to grow and bloom! The buds and leaves begin to grow on trees and even the green of some weeds is nice, because it signals the rebirth of spring! Thank you for sharing your gardens with me! I've really enjoyed all the great pictures! Keep 'em coming!...See MorePost a few of your favorite garden pictures...no matter how old

Comments (30)Thanks for the tour mctavish, your pics and posts are some of my favourites. I can definitely relate to this: > I never have enough room and tend to always plant too close together knowing I’ll have to ‘fix’ it someday. Not so much to the daily watering + automatic watering though! Maybe in another property/life. My family used to have a cottage on the Shuswap, lots of fond memories from around there. I also recall how hot and dry it can be!...See Moreinkognito
