Shoulda known better, Now What?

I have spent the last two months building raised beds for vegetables. A friend brought me two trailer loads of composted horse manure to help fill them. One load had alot of rather fresh wood shavings mixed in the manure. Without a thought, I mixed it into two of the beds AND used it to plant and topdress perennials. NO plants that have this under them are growing. It finally hit me last week that I have read that sawdust will tie up the nitrogen in the soil.

My question: For how long? And is there anything I can do to correct the problem? My squash and cucumbers have been up for three weeks and each plant has a grand total of four silver dollar sized leaves.

Any suggestions?
