Joyce, I'm not sure that an umbrella palm is what I'm looking for. Is that the one that can grow to seven feet tall? I especially want things that grow in water near the shore for decoration and cover for small aquatic critters. Got anything else? Or am I mistaken about what the umbrella palm is? Also, thanks Queens for the tip. I'll be careful.

We live in metro ATL. When we built our pool, I wanted to compare apples to apples as well, but it was hard to do. If you have the drawing and list of everything included, then I'd show it to them, but not the quote. By the way, make sure you check SEVERAL references personally that you have gotten yourself....not from a list given to you by the pb. If you find someone who had problems, then that shouldn't necessarily rule out a pb. After hearing everyone's horror stories here, I would definitely recommend my pb because of how they handled my problems. They always made things right, and believe it or not, to me, it is better to find someone who had problems and the pb fixed them promptly and correctly than to find 20 people who had everything go great because surely the pb has had at least one small problem (maybe you just haven't found those people).

I'd keep the window.On the right of the range, as you approach that window, I'd Not put the frig-but keep going with uppers and lowers and more counter-at the window I would cut back your lowers to 12 or 15 in deep-continue to the other side of window-keeping the reduced depth on lowers. Then I'd take the frig-along with the storage equivalent of your pantry and place it on the opposite wall which is now empty. You will clear the area around your window,and with some decorative uppers as you reach the dining area I think you'd get a nicer effect[glass door uppers?]By reducing the depth of the lowers, and even with frig and some cabs on the oppos wall,it should work out for passage through. Maybe open shelves to the right of the window, if upper cabs aren't needed!
