Ever since the rates have changed there has been much confusion across the country on what to charge for a bubble envelope...especially one that weighs one ounce. I belong to the internet's largest gardening site and there are thousand of members who swap seeds in bubble envelopes.

We would like to see this resolved. This has gone on entirely too long. Workers need to get with it, and get educated on what they should be charging. I am going to encourage everyone I know to ask for a refund from the USPS via email or the 800 number.
A resolution to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

OK...let's rip this reply apart.

Why on earth would she say something like that? Does she think I am a moron or what? Since I was aware enough to know there is a problem with all the mistakes the postal workers across the country are making, why would she think I needed to be informed? I was trying to report that the PO workers are not informed, and that THEY are the ones who NEED TO BE informed.

Well, duh...It is not a clickable link, and it doesn't work or go anywhere. Can anyone get that URL to work? I'm sure it displays info we have all seen and 'KNOW' by now. I think she needs schooled in computers if she is going to be answering complaint emails.

Well duh again...the local Post Offices are the very ones who are overcharging and who are clueless. What she said there is just plain stupid IMHO!

I would think/hope she could document and forward on a complaint about customers being overcharged. Someone somewhere should be able to handle the complaint and reimburse the customer. It is thievery for the postal service to overcharge, not admit it, and for no one to be held accountable.

Okay gang...get a receipt, That should note the PO Location and note what you paid, weight, and if it was a parcel, or flat, or whatever.
Write on the receipt the exact dimension of the envelope....better yet, ask the clerk to write the dimensions (legibly of course) on the receipt. Ask them to slip it through their template to determine the thickness.
Ask the clerk to write the 'thickness of the envelope on the receipt.
Write the clerk's name on the receipt.

Once you have all the info, if you feel you have been overcharged, send all that info via email to the link below.
Ask for a refund. Explain you cannot ask for a refund from the local PO as they are ones overcharging in the first place. DEMAND a refund.

We are at the mercy of these folks...it is not like we can easily take our business elsewhere.

Please post here in this thread all specifics of being overcharged...along with emailing them.

If someone would like, I would write a form letter (complaint email) and members could just fill in the blanks and copy and paste it off in an email.

I just cannot believe this mess is still going on. Contacting the media is sounding better and better. Anyone want to be our spokesperson? jim_b, agirlsgirl, roflolol, proudgm_03, anyone? I'm much to shy (and quiet, lol) to undertake such a thing.

If this cannot get resolved here soon, (like with the USPS issueing refunds) then maybe things need esculated to the Postmaster General. I do know that as victims, we do have rights.

Sue! I am convinced that is the link to nowhere! Some customer service! I am going to PO today or tomorrow depends on if this headache goes away! Smart lady! If I get no satisfaction tomorrow I will be taking your advice on sending them an email. I keep receipts for everything so I still have my PO receipts showing that I was ripped off! I will be taking those with me! The employee that ripped me off decided that all bubble envys are small parcels! I wonder who died and left her in charge!?! My Dh seems to think that they really know what they are doing and that they are profiting off of our hobby! Call him paranoid,but he may have a good point! Just having the receipts really doesn't show or prove anything. The receipts miust show the width/length, and thickness. I think I would have the postal worker put those things on the receipt, and then have them sign the receipt. Maybe then they will know it is official...just what they charged and for what. They will maybe stop and wonder why a customer would be so persistent in thinking they were being overcharged. Maybe they would stop and THINK, if they had to sign something.

Oh yes! I agree! I am going tomorrow for sure. I was going to today but I have had a headache the last few days and I like to deal with things with a clear mind.The headache has passed and I am ready for action!I am still taking the receipts with me,and I am also taking a trade in a bubble envy with me to show what I mailed,I know it is my word against the employee,but the man I talked to seemed to know who I was talking about when I called with my complaint.(By the tone of his voice I think he knows how she is)I am taking the envys that poisondartfrog sent also. I have a few trades that just came today that are going to be good examples of the inconsistency in price.I am leaving them intact as I received them to show the Head of Clerks.The PO office I am going to isn't the one I mail from but is the main one for our area.I want to go as well armed as I can so I am taking it all with me. I will let them know how serious this is.If I wasn't out of ink I would print all the thread and take that too! Hmmm,I wonder if he would be willing to look himself! I will suggest this!I really agree Sue that if we do not let this go and demand things from them,we will get results. The more people sticking together the more likely we will see change.
