Are you asking about rhubarb from seed? Or, are you asking about rhubarb roots -- ie, cloned varieties NOT propagated by seed? Both are available from numerous mail-order sources. If you want to grow your own from seed, which is VERY easy to do, you will mostly find the varieties 'Victoria' and 'Glaskins Perpetual' out there. Both are largely green with only modest amounts of reddish coloring earlier in the season, large leaved, very vigorous and productive. There are many more varieties only available as roots. Some of the better mail-order nurseries for fruiting plants in general include Nourse Farms in MA, Indiana Berry Company in Indiana, Raintree Nursery in Washington State. Dennis SE Michigan

There is no need to start a new thread. You can just add to the existing one (linked below). As I said in your other post, check your local agricultural information sources to see if Red Leaf disease exists in UK. Flora, who lives in UK , replied that she was unaware of it and she is very knowledgeable about gardening so it may not be a problem in the UK as it is in the northern US and Canada. It could also be a nutrient deficiency so perhaps it needs a feeding although that is best done in warmer weather. Or it may be the cool weather you describe. If the leaves have been hit by a hard freeze that may be the cause but the only way to know for sure is to wait and watch. If it is Red Leaf disease the plant will die. Otherwise the plant will probably recover as the weather improves. As I mentioned before you can also Google 'rhubarb Red Leaf disease' to learn all about it and see photos of it to compare to your plants. I have grown rhubard (a few varieities) for ~10 years up here. FWIW, rhubarb is very hard to kill. What I have seen this spring is that there is a wide variation between when individual plants are coming up. Most of this variation is explained by the location; plants which were under deep snow last winter have been slower to sprout than others. But even in the same bed, some plants have taken a few weeks longer to come up than others. If you are really curious and can't wait, you could carefully brush away the soil/mulch over one or two of the plants in question and see if there are any buds making their way up. (Carefully is key here, rhubarb buds are fairly easily knocked off)
