Best location for my rhubarb

We aquired a nice rhubarb plant from someone getting rid of theirs. My husband planted it in full sun and after a week and a half it seems to be pretty happy where it's at.

But I know rhubarb is quite happy in cooler areas like Nova Scotia (where I grew up and rhubarb was plentiful). I am wondering if it can handle the 90 degree days of Southern Ontario summers.

Would moving the plant to a more shaddy location help, or will it suffer from lack of sun? If I moved under the spruce tree in my yard can it handle the soil conditions created from the needles dropping?

Thanks, I'm looking forward to rhubarb this years...and hopefully next year as well!

Rebecca
