Bishop's Weed- To plant or not to plant? Help!

arugula

We want to eradicate our front yard quickly and cheaply, until we have time and money to do nicer landscaping- mainly to reduce mowing. A neighbor just gave me many bags of bishop's weed. I'm considering putting it around the foundation and in the side of the yard where nothing will grow very well, but will I regret it? How hard is it to remove if you decide you dislike it? I know you can make pesto out of the young leaves! :-) Does it spread by seed or root? Your ideas and experiences are welcome.

I like seedum much better, but getting it free or very cheaply to fill up large spaces is a challenge, yes? Or does it spread rapidly?

Thanks in advance!
