Do you donate veggies in your community?

Hi. I'm wondering if any of you donate any of the veggie or fruits you grow? I saw something called plant a row for the hungry but it's not really near me. I did find ampleharvest.org that I am planning on joining. I just wondered if any of you do anything like this.

We srarted out to donate to the local shelters etc. ,but once we had shared with friends in need( out of work etc) and a few elders on our block we pretty much used everything!
Last year we put in one huge garden at my sons,but we has total crop falure due to rabbits and a few stray chickens,everything sheared off at the ground!The same spot he had a booming success with the year before,go figure.

Hi arkseven, First off, I wanted to sincerely thank you for your service to our country. I feel it is not expressed nearly enough. Secondly, Congratulations on your upcoming and well deserved, I'm sure, retirement. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine. Thirdly, I can send small amounts of different tomatoes. Some are saved from 2008 and 2009. Some I got in a 2009 swap (and are more than I will use). Some are older commercial seeds but Hopefully you would get 'some' germination out of them and end up with a 'variety' of tomatoes to grow. I also received in more dill seeds than I can use, so can share some of those too. Please have Mrs. Arkseven look over my seed list and see if there might be any flowers or shrubs she might be interested in. Lastly, I think it is wonderful that you will be doing a Community Garden for others and wish you well. It is very thoughtful of you to include the Placard signs showing the seed contributors, and thanks for the link. What a great use for old gift cards. Newbie Seed Project Needs Veggie Donations

Hi All, Some of you might recognize me, but in general I tend to "hang out" in the Seed Exchange area. I took over the Newbie Seed Project 3 yrs ago from Bakemom who started it 10 yrs before that. We send out packs of 25+ varieties to newbies who send in stamps, to help get them started. I'm running terribly low (almost out) of veggie seeds for newbies, and another member suggested I might post here asking for donations. If you have any extra veggie seeds you're willing to send for Newbies, please message me.
