Estimate for grading and hydroseeding

Help! Is this estimate a rip-off?? I live in northern Rhode Island and sought an estimate to have my front yard landscaped, something simple and easy to take care of. The lawn that is there (if I can call it a lawn!) has been overrun with crabgrass, and a lot of it died when a tree was removed and the stump was ground down.....the wood shavings weren't cleaned up properly by the tree guys and it killed what grass there was. The area is slightly less than 500 square feet. The landscaper said he would need to re-grade the lawn, spread loam, then hydroseed. I also asked to have six plants (hydrangea and holly) planted in a bed against the house foundation, and one small dogwood tree. The estimate was for $2,250. I'm a single woman who doesn't know much about this kind of stuff. Does this sound reasonable?? Thanks for any help you can give me.
