help?? agaves wanted...will trade

My husband has decided he wants the hottest side of our new house planted with agaves.

I would love to find the following:

Variegated Century Plant

Agave americana 'Variegata'

Desert Agave

Agave deserti

Agave tequilana Tequila Sunrise'

Hey Deb,
I have a huge agaves that sprouts out pups like you wouldn't believe, I don't know the kind though. I will try to send you a picture later tonight. Do you have any tropicals? Thnks

I have an agave, not sure of the name, but it looks like Agave americana,var. marginata,...
You are welcome to the pups for postage.

I have to replant this before I bring it in for the winter, as the pot is broken and it has pups hanging out everywhere, and I just hate throwing good plants away....

Aloe #1 = Gasteria, possibly Gasteria lingua. Aloe #2 = Aloe maculata (formerly A. saponaria) Aloe #3 = I vote Aloe ferox, too. Aloe #4 == not the best photo but probably A. striata or a hybrid (there are many intergrades between this species and A. maculata). Agave #1 == too young to tell Agave #2 = also too young to tell but possibly Agave parryi Cactus #1 == an Astrophytum? Native succulent = Portulaca, Purslane, a weed Yucca #1 == could be Yucca elephantipes. Joe

It looks like Agave bore. they get inside at the ground level. They are normally most active in the spring. I would teat all your agave So they do not collapse also. I am only guessing about this. Agave bore is new to the area but with all the trade in agave coming from arizona and California, I have beee starting to see them in the nurseries. a friend of mine lost many of his collection .
