Help is desperately needed as to material to put over pvc pipes

We are trying to correct a drainage problem in our sideyard. We have installed a pump ( which has already clogged once due to small blossoms, even though there is a screen above the pump) and pvc pipes so that water will drain out to the street. Due to the slope of our yard we have had drainage problems, large puddles, so this year, after removing 24" of dirt for 250' and installing pvc pipes to transport excess water, we will need to put concrete over length of the pipes. Our concern is if there is a problem, then it would be difficult to jackhammer the concrete (pavers would be more costly than concrete). Could anyone suggest something other than concrete or pavers that would be suitable? Dirt is not working as we need to bring the trash can over this area (which is narrow due to the fence and the air conditioning compressor system). Astro turf, rock, sand are not options that would work - according to my husband as dirt would eventually get on top and difficult to hose off; although I think it's easier than jackhammering concrete. Does anyone have suggestion as to what we can put over the pvc pipes? Thanks in advance.
