skinny tomato stalks questions

We had a bunch of tomato's that sprouted and after a couple weeks they were doing well.

Today the wife decided to take them out side.

They were rather thin and my intent was to plant them deep.

I read that it helps them grow stronger as the roots are deeper, and it worked last year on a couple I picked up late in the season.

Well, it was a real windy day and they all blew over 90 degrees tangling together and sticking together like velcro!

Now, a lot of the leaves are shriveled up and I'm afraid she killed them all.

She also roughly pulled them apart severing some of the tops clean off of the plants acting like it was nothing, said they would grow back!

So, how bad did she screw things up?

The bean, corn and squash are coming up thick though.
