Groundcover needed to cover horrid gravel mulch!

Last summer my husband replaced the cedar mulch in our landscaping to a horrible, ugly pinkish-tan gravel mulch. I hate it so much sometimes I just look out the window and could cry. But there are 2.5 tons of it spread around our house and I have to deal with it - by covering it up!

I'm looking for a groundcover to cover up a large, empty curving space about 10x3, right in the front of our foundation bed which used to be planted with annuals in the summer for color, which of course don't grow in the gravel mulch for various reasons. The front of the house faces South, and I was thinking of a sedum groundcover, and would like one that has white flowers perhaps (to complement a river birch just to the left).

I purchased a flat of sedum Dragon's Blood but I'm not sure if the red flowers would complement the Japanese Maple to the right of the area. Boxwoods are behind the area covering up the foudation. Any suggestions on a groundcover would be appreciated!
