Wanting to put a design on paper and make it look professional

I am a budding landscape contractor. I started out mainly doing maintenance but have found that I've got a pretty good "eye" for design and installation but not a good "hand" at drawing it out as a selling point for my customers. I have always sketched out a rough draft for my own use but want to improve on my drawing skills. What are the proper materials that I need to be using such as writing instruments, templates, paper , etc... so that I can come across as more professional. The books that I have found focus on design theroy and not on the actual drafting of the design. Any suggestions? These chicken-scratched designs on napkins aren't cutting it. Thanks in advance
