Couple of things going on: 1. Container is too small. Super Sweet 100's are an indeterminate type of tomato and will develop a huge root system. Mine grew to almost 6' with multiple side branching and 100's of fruit. (and I live in a hard to grow tomatoes climate). It was also in a 15 G container. 2. Miracle Gro potting soil is just not very good. If you were to take a survey of regulars to this forum, you would probably get a 99% negative rating on this product. 3. The plant looks like it is starving to death. There is hardly any foliage on it and it needs leaves (lots of 'em) in order to photosynthesize properly and in turn produce flowers and fruit. Part of this may be due to the container size, part to the soil and part to the lack of proper nutrients the soil obviously didn't provide. There is really nothing you can do for it now except to put it out of its misery. If you review archived threads on this forum for growing tomatoes in containers, you will find a lot of helpful discussions. Or check the Tomato forum. And be sure to read Al's (tapla) wonderful dissertation on container soils - it is absolutely essential information for growing anything in containers. I've linked to it for you. Yes, I have a fan in the laundry room which is about 5x7 circulating the air. Most of those you see are pepper plants/flower plants. As far as the tomatoes, I was trying my best to transfer all of the original soil so I didn't disturb the roots and some of them I didn't get as deep as I had hoped (those trays are shallower) though they all got roots all the way to the bottom which seems good! But yes, wasn't sure I could bury all the way to the leaves, after they get stronger I'll do it. They are stiffening up now that they have soaked in the water. Its probably at the lowest 55 in that room at night, and closer to 70 most of the time. Is that okay/ The heatting pad is still on my seeds I'm germinating, and its helping give the small room a little warmth I can feel too. Its getting down to 10-15 degree's on and off the last few days here. Burrr. Ungarden related news, we're closing on our house Friday. Yardman, So what you're saying is that the container will be like one of those Topsy-Turvy tomato planters? Taz--You're scaring me--I did put a Sweet 100 in a container--A large one and I need to move it so it gets relief from the brutal afternoon sun, I think, because I've found out they split, from reading this forum. If one puts one of those into a hanging basket--Go ahead and really laugh--if one fed it frequently with dilute fertilizer, might it actually be able to live and produce tomatoes? I was going to put mine into a hanging basket, but something told me that might not be a good idea. So, I got a grape tomato to put into the hanging basket. Rotsa ruck, right? :) Vivian
