Going to put in a wall. Drainage stone and pipe needed?

Hi All!

I purchased the block and the base material and drainage stone for behind the wall and was wondering if I really need the drainage pipe behind the wall too?

The retaining wall will be about 17 feet long and will be 20 inches high on one end and about 29 inches high on the other end.

Since it is not too high and I am putting drainage stone behind it, do I need to put in a drain pipe behind it?

I will be lining the hole bottom and walls with the drainage fabric to keep the dirt out of the stone. Will this suffice?

If I do need to put the drain pipe in, how do I terminate it? Put it deeper in the ground like a french drain?

Thanks!
