Mother-in-law Tongue

Have several mother-in-law tongue plants for trade. I have been on here for about a year, but never actively involved, so basically a newbie.

Looking for easy to grow houseplants or hardy (zone 6) perennials.

Hi,
I'd love some of your mother-in-law tongue. I have lots of white snapdragons right now, a few white and purple iris, or check my lists for anything else you might be interested in. As far as houseplants go, the only thing I have available for trade are spider babies, green and variegated. Let me know if you're interested.

That's one plant that can look really ratty and beat-up, but yours looks beautiful. I checked the Sunset garden book, and if this is "sansevieria trifasciata," shelter from midday sun is recommended. The cactus book says it likes "summer light," so I guess you are meeting it's needs very well. Maybe the plant often looks bad because it's overwatered or in full sun all day.

I don't grow many of these, but when mine became a tangled ball of roots like this I just broke each cluster apart and let them dry out of soil for a day. Then potted them in their new home. They seem to be doing well as I find these plants impossible to kill. Sometimes they sit without water for months when I forget / ignore them and still look perfectly fine, not to mention they seem to grow like weeds. Also, you may want to check out the Sansevieria forums here on GardenWeb.
