That is about what I used to pay for a 2 cu ft bag from a supplier who no longer provides it.

I would love to find that price again, as I now have to pay $12 per 2.8 cu ft. Next year I have some locals who will go in with me to buy at least a pallet to get wholesale pricing if another source doesn't open up.

I'm just using up the last several bags of some stuff (the Golden Trophy) I bought 2 years ago on sale @ $2.97/2 cu ft bag. I bought several bags of Fafard's aged pine bark to try this year, too. It looks really good. I bought them @ Telly's on John R in Troy for $7.99/2.8 cu ft bag.

I wonder if the Fafard's distributor wouldn't just offload a pallet on your driveway, JaG? I'm guessing that wholesale should be in the neighborhood of $4-5/bag.

Wow, I didn't realize how fortunate I am. I can buy a yard for $22, or 2CF bags for $2.35. From the sounds of things it might be cheaper to get the regular bags of bark from Wally World, rent a chipper and build your own pile to decompose.

I buy Soil Conditioner (pine bark fines) at Lowes. $2.78 for 2 cu.ft. That's the price this year, which is more than they charged for it last year...

Thanks for the replies, I'm going to look around a bit more, but it's good to know I have one source. It's a small neighborhood C-store w/ a nursery. I think the pallet should be there a while.

Wish my lowes carried it. I was getting pine soil conditionar for about $3 bucks a 2 sq ft bag. That company just raised it a dollar to $4. Found a bag at bushel stop for $6.50 sq ft which I thought was high.
