Any reason I should NOT plant my peas now?

Stacey Collins

I've planted on St.Patricks Day once before, with good results, but usually there's still snow on the garden until April here.

I'm near the coast in southern Maine and it's been clear, dry, and daytime temps in the 40s for weeks... and forecast not to continue same temps. The ground is dry enough. It's going to be rainy next week so I thought I might get peas, lettuce, spinach in now before the wet.

Is that a good idea? I don't want things to rot. What do you think?
